Lil Wayne was Born as Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. at September 27th, 1982, become an American million-selling rapper with a massive body of work, one so inventive and cunning that it makes his famous claim of being the "best rapper alive" worth considering.

As well, in 1999, Lil Wayne released his Platinum debut album Tha Block Is Hot, selling over one million copies in the U.S.
His next two albums Lights Out, issued 2000 and 500 Degreez, released in 2002 were not as powerfull but they succeed to reach Gold status. He reached higher popularity in 2004 with Tha Carter. In 2005, he continued issuing Tha Carter II. In 2006 and 2007, Lil Wayne released several mixtapes and appeared on several popular rap and R&B singles.
Lil Wayne most successful album, Tha Carter III, was released in 2008 and sold over 1 million copies in the U.S. its first week of release. It included the number-one single "Lollipop" and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
His first Rock Album "Rebirth" was released in the early 2010. Although primarily negative reception from critics the album eventually went gold. Durig 2010 he was prisoned for several months in New Yourk after being convicted of criminal possession of a weapon stemming from an incident in July 2007. While in prison he released another album entitled I Am Not a Human Being, featuring Young Money artists such as Drake, Lil Twist and Nicki Minaj .
Sorry 4 The Wait, a free download that precedes Weezy's highly anticipated Tha Carter 4 album, finds the formerly voracious rapper in a more subdued place. He expresses his prowess and lavish life with the lyrical wit fans have come to expect, handling beats by Kreayshawn, Big Sean and YC with ease.
